Sandra has loved dancing since she was a young girl. She took some
jazz and gymnastics when she was young but didn't start dancing
seriously until she was in her 20's. She used her jazz skills as
"Roxie" in a Chicago-inspired routine in the Isaac Royal Equestrian
Theater
as a creative, new way to dance with horses. Partnering up
with Lydia Rose, they began bellydancing and incorporating the veils
with the horses (see video). Sandra started teaching basic bellydance classes in 2008 and formed the dance troupe Pegasus Bellydance in 2009.
Earlier this year Pegasus Bellydance put on a full-length performance at the Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft, ME. They showcased double veil routines (see video), the Wings of Isis (see
video)
, tribal themes (see video), and live drum solos.

Sandra and Lydia were featured in Shimmy Magazine with an article about Bellydancing in Equestrian Theater (see article). Sandra has also incorporated her use of the Wings of Isis with horses. Riding without the use of her hands, she guides the horse with just her body (see video). She enjoys dancing to live drummers and has performed with professional African drummer Annegret Baier and the Jambuie Drummers. Annegret also plays with the well-known drumming group Inanna.
