Sandra is available for clinics year round. She enjoys teaching new riders and has a positive, encouraging approach. Her training philosophy comes from her coach/mentor Carolyn Rose, founder of the Aspirant Technique. This technique helps riders develop better balance, timing, and to better understand the language of the horse.
She communicates well with riders of all ages and is experienced at solving difficult horse and rider problems. Sandra encourages audience participation, especially in the Judge's View Clinic. She is also available for lectures on numerous topics that can be incorporated into any clinic format using videos and handout materials.

The Judge's View Clinic gives riders the chance to perform
their dressage test in front of a judge (Sandra) and then recieve feedback and a mini-lesson. The rider warms up as they would in a show, rides their test, recieves feedback for about 5 to 10 minutes as their horse has a walk break, then they proceed to school with Sandra for 20 minutes working on ways to improve their test. The audience can learn as well, asking questions and following along with blank test sheets so that they can see each test from a judge's perspective. She incorporates the Aspirant Technique which focuses on the rider and how their balance affects the horse. Sandra narrows in on the rider's balance issues such as crookedness and improper weight distribution.

Sandra also knows from personal experience that pain, tension, and
weakness of the muscles can greatly impact what is happening as the rider uses their aids. She is sensitive to riders that have issues with fear, poor confidence, and show nerves and has many exercises to help riders with poor timing and lack of body awareness. By using the Aspirant Technique she is able to give riders a better understanding of the horse's body language and to see that most problems stem from the rider, not the horse.
Sandra travels regularly to Tallahassee, Florida and teaches at Southern Oaks Equestrian Center and at Salt Pond Farm in Vinalhaven, ME. She is available for clinics year round.
